Mindora — the AI journaling app.
Mindora is a free AI journaling app for Web and Android (iOS coming soon), built by AQVION LABS. It scores the mood of each entry as you write, shows how your mood moves across weeks and months, and includes an assistant that answers questions about your own journal. Journal content is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, two-factor authentication is available, and there are no ads or third-party trackers.
The key takeaway: Mindora turns a journal from something you write into something you can read back — mood trends and answers about your own entries, without rereading every page.

What does Mindora do?
Mindora is a journal that reads itself back to you: it analyses entries as you write them and turns months of writing into trends you can see at a glance.
- Scores the mood of every entry as it is written
- Charts mood over time — a mood radar, positivity over time, and a month at a glance
- Answers questions about your own entries through a built-in assistant
- Helps rewrite, summarise and tag entries
- Searches across everything you have written
What makes Mindora secure?
Journal content is encrypted in the database, passwords are never stored in readable form, and nothing about you is sold or used for advertising.
- All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS
- Journal content is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM in the primary database. The search index holds titles and content unencrypted on Mindora's own access-controlled infrastructure so search can work
- Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes; optional two-factor authentication is available, with encrypted secrets and hashed recovery codes
- Every request passes a gateway with Redis-backed distributed rate limiting
- No ads and no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs; your data is not sold
- Entry text goes to an AI provider only when an AI feature is used
- You can delete single entries, or your whole account, from Settings
What happens if an AI provider goes down?
Mindora keeps working. Its AI layer falls through Gemini to Anthropic to HuggingFace and finally to deterministic heuristics, so mood detection gets less precise under failure instead of disappearing.
- Four tiers, tried in order: Gemini, Anthropic, HuggingFace, built-in heuristics
- The last tier needs no external service, so a request never hangs waiting on someone else's API
- Saving an entry never waits on search: indexing happens asynchronously after the write completes
How is Mindora built?
Mindora runs as twelve services — eleven in Java, one in Python — behind a single gateway, with the mobile app built in React Native.
- Java 21 and Spring Boot 3 services behind Spring Cloud Gateway with Eureka discovery
- One Python Flask service
- Elasticsearch for search, fed through RabbitMQ so it stays off the write path
- React 19 on the web, React Native for mobile
- Deployed on Kubernetes
Frequently asked questions about Mindora.
Is Mindora free?
Yes. Mindora is free to use.
Which platforms does Mindora run on?
Mindora runs on the web and on Android, and an iOS version is coming soon. The mobile app is built in React Native and has the same features as the web app.
How does Mindora keep journal entries private?
Journal content is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM in the primary database and travels over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, and two-factor authentication is available. Mindora has no ads or third-party trackers, and you can delete your account and its data from Settings.
Does Mindora send my entries to an AI service?
Only when you use an AI feature — mood detection, summarise, rephrase, fix grammar, continue writing, auto-tags or AI chat. The relevant text is sent to an AI provider to produce that result; Mindora's AI layer uses Gemini, Anthropic or HuggingFace, with built-in heuristics as a fallback.
What happens to Mindora's AI features if a provider goes down?
Mindora falls back from Gemini to Anthropic to HuggingFace, and finally to built-in rules. Mood detection gets less precise during an outage but keeps working.
Who makes Mindora?
Mindora is built by AQVION LABS, a technology engineering company founded by Ahmed Umer.
